Root Cause
Background daemon not starting Even after logging in, the spinner persisted because the background daemon (\.\pipe\cc-daemon-*) failed to start on Windows. No daemon.log, no socket, no roster — it never launched at all. This is a known Windows-specific bug with the Claude Code VS Code extension's Webview panel.
