What issue are you seeing?

What happened?

On Windows, Codex interactive TUI input rendering breaks only when running inside a Git repository.

Long input text visually disappears or wraps incorrectly. Backspace also causes the input line to repaint incorrectly. The actual input buffer may still exist, but the visible input becomes corrupted.

If I rename .git to .git.disabled, Codex works normally in the same folder.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Minimal reproduction

mkdir C:\tmp\codex-git-repro
cd C:\tmp\codex-git-repro
git init
New-Item README.md
git add README.md
git commit -m "init"
codex

Then type a long plain English string, for example:

  dddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

The input text starts disappearing/wrapping incorrectly. Backspace makes it worse.

Now exit Codex and run:

  Rename-Item .git .git.disabled
›
  codex

The problem disappears.

Important observation

This is not specific to my project files. A minimal repo with only README.md also reproduces the issue.

Removing or renaming .git immediately fixes the rendering issue.
