What happened? I redeemed a Claude Pro gift subscription. The redemption was confirmed successful. Shortly after, my account was silently downgraded to the Free plan with no notification or action on my part.

Billing page evidence:

  • Current plan shows: Free plan
  • Invoices show: $0.00 × 2 (Mar 5, 2026 and Apr 13, 2026) — both marked "Paid"
  • This confirms the gift subscription was recognized by the system but the plan entitlement was not maintained.

Support contact history:

  • Contacted support via email multiple times
  • Fin AI Agent (Anthropic's support AI) confirmed this is a technical billing issue but stated it cannot escalate to engineering or restore access
