Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When your working dir is in NAS server dir. It has a IP address prefix in working DIR, which even after added to working dir in claude code. It's still consider as external folder, and bypass permission function failed which make claude code ask for permission each time read, edit or write a file even in bypass mode or user clicked always allow.

What Should Happen?

Should handle NAS server dir path correctly as internal folder and allow bypass permission, slient all permission request.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue can be addressed by correctly handling NAS server directory paths as internal folders in Claude Code.

Guidance

  • Verify that the NAS server directory path is correctly formatted and added to the working directory in Claude Code.
  • Check the permission settings for the NAS server directory to ensure that Claude Code has the necessary access rights.
  • Investigate the internal module responsible for handling directory paths and permissions in Claude Code to identify the root cause of the issue.
  • Consider adding a configuration option to specify the NAS server directory as an internal folder to bypass permission requests.

Example

No code snippet is provided as the issue lacks specific technical details.

Notes

The issue may be specific to the Anthropics API and Windows operating system, and the solution may vary depending on the internal implementation of Claude Code.

Recommendation

Apply a workaround by configuring the NAS server directory as an internal folder in Claude Code, if possible, to bypass permission requests. This is recommended because the issue has never worked as expected, and a workaround may provide a temporary solution until a permanent fix is available.
