Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I am a pro user. i started experiencing this earlier today. soon after i started i hit my 100 % usage limits, I thought maybe I wasnt aware of how much i had used it. but after the usage limits got reset, i could clearly see a problem, I gave just 2 prompts, one to sonnet and another one to opus on claude code, and I reached 49% of my usage limit. This is not right.

What Should Happen?

I have used claude for so long now. what is happening is definitely not me gloating about the usage limits being more or less than before. This

is some serious discrepancy.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue is likely due to incorrect usage limit tracking in the Claude Code version 2.1.104, and a workaround may involve monitoring usage more closely or seeking assistance from the developers to resolve the discrepancy.

Guidance

  • Review the usage limits and tracking mechanism in the Claude Code version 2.1.104 to identify potential issues or changes that may have caused the discrepancy.
  • Compare the current usage limits with previous versions to determine if there have been any changes that may be contributing to the problem.
  • Consider reaching out to the developers or support team for assistance in resolving the issue, as the problem may be specific to the Anthropics API or the Terminal.app on macOS.
  • Verify that the usage limits are being reset correctly and that there are no other factors contributing to the high usage percentage.

Example

No code snippet is provided as the issue does not involve code changes, but rather a potential problem with the usage limit tracking mechanism.

Notes

The issue may be specific to the Anthropics API or the Terminal.app on macOS, and further investigation is needed to determine the root cause. The lack of error messages or logs makes it difficult to provide a more specific solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: The issue is likely a regression, and applying a workaround such as closely monitoring usage or seeking assistance from the developers may be the best course of action until a fix is available.
