Error Message

Hello Gemini team, I'm trying to open the Gemini CLI from the Android Studio Panda 4 terminal using the Gemini CLI Companion plugin. The gemini command executes, but I get what appears to be a read error from Gemini regarding files that are clearly compilation files. I tried using .geminiignore, but it didn't work. I then opened it using a separate terminal, in this case Warp.app, and it opened normally. However, within Android Studio, I still don't get any results, and the UI is corrupted. What do you think the problem could be?

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to the environment or configuration of the Android Studio terminal, and using a separate terminal like Warp.app works, so exploring terminal settings or compatibility could be the key to resolving the issue.

Guidance

  • Investigate the differences in environment variables or settings between the Android Studio terminal and the Warp.app terminal to identify potential causes.
  • Try running the gemini command with verbose logging or debugging options to gather more information about the read error.
  • Check if there are any known issues or compatibility problems with the Gemini CLI Companion plugin in Android Studio Panda 4.
  • Consider testing the gemini command in a different IDE or terminal to isolate the issue.

Notes

The provided information suggests that the issue is specific to the Android Studio terminal, and more debugging or logging might be necessary to determine the root cause.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Try using a separate terminal like Warp.app for running the Gemini CLI until the issue with Android Studio is resolved, as it seems to work correctly in that environment.
