extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to the free plan's quota not being enforced as expected, causing the /status command to always show 100% availability.

Guidance

  • Verify the quota usage by checking the Codex CLI documentation or support resources to understand how the free plan's quota is supposed to work.
  • Try resetting or reinstalling the Codex CLI to see if the issue persists, which might help determine if it's a local configuration problem.
  • Reach out to Codex support to report the issue and ask about the expected behavior for the free plan's quota, as they can provide more insight into whether this is a bug or an intended feature.
  • Be cautious with usage, as the free plan's quota is typically limited, and exceeding it might lead to account restrictions.

Notes

The issue description lacks technical details about the Codex CLI's internal workings or specific error messages, making it challenging to provide a definitive fix. The guidance provided is based on the information given and aims to help the user understand and potentially mitigate the issue.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Monitor usage carefully and reach out to Codex support to clarify the expected behavior for the free plan's quota, as relying on the current unlimited usage might lead to unforeseen consequences.
