Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I'm using Claude Code desktop. Previously, on the session page (where I can see the branch name, diff stats like "+10 -0", and the "Create PR" button), there was an icon to open the session's worktree directly in VSCode. That icon has disappeared. I can't find it anywhere in the UI anymore, and I don't see any option in settings to re-enable it. Is this a known regression, has the feature been moved/renamed, or was it removed intentionally? If it's still available, where can I find it?

What Should Happen?

Have an easy way to open directly in IDE (vscode before for me) the worktree of the session.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The missing VSCode icon to open a session's worktree directly might be a regression and can potentially be addressed by checking for updates or seeking support from the Claude Code team.

Guidance

  • Review the Claude Code release notes for version 1.3883.0 to see if the feature was intentionally removed or replaced.
  • Check the Claude Code settings and UI again for any hidden or relocated options related to opening sessions in VSCode.
  • Consider reaching out to the Claude Code support team or community forums for further assistance, as this might be a known issue or regression.
  • If the feature was removed, explore alternative methods for opening the worktree in VSCode, such as using the command line or VSCode's built-in Git features.

Notes

The lack of information about the last working version and any error messages/logs limits the ability to provide a more specific solution. The issue might be specific to the Anthropics API or macOS platform.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Since the feature's removal or replacement is unclear, and without a clear path to restore it, exploring alternative methods for achieving the same functionality, such as manual setup of VSCode to open the worktree, might be the most practical approach.
